There’s a little lantern within us
It’s flames light our path
But remember it’s wick requires fuel
*
Internal light is not hidden
It radiates through our thoughts, our words
Enlightening others or burning them
*
Unintentional flashes of ourselves often seep out
Unfiltered by those shades that attempt to dim
To camouflage the real we are
*
That little lantern inside
Has potential to be a blinding light
But also to generate radiant heat
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. May your light shine bright.
For The Sunday Muse where we are asked to use the photo as a prompt.
Lovely - and a powerful reminder too. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis has a beautiful and wise message Myrna. I also wanted to let you know that your link was not working so we deleted it. Could you re-link? I know everyone wants to read your lovely poem.
ReplyDeleteVery true..
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the little lantern within us.......giving light, generating heat. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteHello dear Myrna...it is Carrie again. The link you shared last was still doing the same thing, but this time I fixed it. When you link, you want to copy the URL that you see when your poem has been published, and you are looking at it from the view others would. If you have any questions, I would be happy to help. Just let me know. I know links and Mr Linky can be kaablinky. :-))
ReplyDelete'This little light of mine' ~~~ cannot count the number of times we sang this in Sunday School. A great grouping of words.
ReplyDeleteOh, that light that burns a view into who we are can be tough at times. May we be a guiding light to those in need.
ReplyDeleteThe light that burns within can be seen through the nature
ReplyDeleteof the person, but "remember it’s wick requires fuel."
Lovely, Myrna.

That little light is a light of hope and sometimes it is barely flickering and other times it burns with life.
ReplyDeleteMay you week be filled with brightness...
"But remember it’s wick requires fuel"
