HALLOWEEN

source

On this night
of immense and profound darkness,
the dead visit earth bound souls
that animate bodies
thick with fleshy matter containing
blood, bones, thoughts
that often contradict what's rational.

On this night, the dead play
with the living because they know
about the intangible monster
that lurks in us all.

On this night, ancestral spirits warn us,
by animating ghouls, ghosts, goblins, gore,
that our fear is real,
almost impossible to kill.

  1. OooWoo! "the intangible monster
    that lurks in us all."
Gosh, you have made this so real that I felt a chill go through my body. There is truth in this scary tale. That last line is a Zinger.

  10. that our fear is real,
    almost impossible to kill.

When it comes to ghostly matters the fears linger on though for no good reasons!

  12. Halloween is literally my favorite time of the year because it is a time for change and remembering those who we've lost, and celebrating those lives that are now away from us somewhere else.
