my dogs barked wildly,
the chimes in my yard clashed a wild concerto
the chimes in my yard clashed a wild concerto
to the rhythm of thunder, lightning,
colors - all wild.
The rain wildly patted
the desert soil thirsting to grow wildly,
knowing nothing on earth is wasteland.
For a moment, I merged with the scene.
I felt connected to a cosmic wilderness
of wonder inside and all around me growing
like vines projecting, encircling, entwining
you, me, all.
Because I realized this is where the wild things are,
last night I stood outside,
released my inner wild,
(I must dedicate this to the original Wild Woman, Sherry Bluesky.)
This is such a wonderful dedication to Sherry :D
ReplyDeleteBeautifully penned :D
Lots of love,

Oh sister Wolf-Woman, how I love this. And thank you for the dedication, I love it. It must be awe-inspiring to watch a storm in the desert, and what an incredible sky that was. I love "this is where the wild things are" and your howl. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteNice. I love standing in the fury of the storm feeling all my hairs stand on end in the charge that is in the air. Sounds like fun times to me.
ReplyDeleteLoved the wilderness in the poem. Mesmerizing! :)
ReplyDeleteAh. Wonderful. To feel unified with that wilderness is enchanting. I loved the ending. :-)
ReplyDelete-HA
Ah, sometime it feels good to just HOWL like that! Especially when the sky is so beautifully bright!
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteTo poem and sky.
"Because I realized this is where the wild things are,
ReplyDeletelast night I stood outside,
released my inner wild,
and howled."
LOVE this!
Wild has two distinct meaning to be free and untamed or furious and dangerous. That need to return to the wild is clearly a need to check who we really are and what we have come from for we seem to be heading in the wrong direction. That makes me furious and dangerous! Beautiful poem Myrna.
ReplyDeleteThe nature within us and we within the nature:)
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I like to keep connected to nature because it reminds that my creator is wild and untamed, and not in the little box that some others would like to think. Keep connected, keep howling, Myrna :)
ReplyDeleteDesert storms are very exciting and you wrote a beautiful description...It pleases me that you are living in such a beautiful environment. City people never get the opportunity to do the call of the wild....well,some do and the neighbours call the police:)

DeleteThank you for your lovely comment.
sometimes the only response is to howl with nature. Glad you could share the moment with nature. Nice to have Sherry as our "in house" Wild Woman!
ReplyDeleteouch..where did my comment go?...it is blessed to feel unified with all that's around us..that Howl is a beautiful appreciation of that...we need to let out our inner wild sometimes...a lovely poem Myrna :)
ReplyDeleteah nice... howl on - howl on - it is good to connect with our wild side every once and a while... and with nature and the things around us
ReplyDeleteA good howl is not a bad idea.
ReplyDelete"Because I realized this is where the wild things are,
ReplyDeletelast night I stood outside,
released my inner wild,
and howled."....strange are the elements of nature that connects to the sensory nerves...and heart. Howl on.... till it gains momentum.... influencing every element of our lives. Let it be a kind of revolution ...I LOVE this poem, Myrna.
good for you; that oneness you shared here is awesome
ReplyDeletethanks for dropping in to read mine
mch love...
Sometimes that release is all we need. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteA fine dedication to Sherry - I suppose we embrace the wild in our own ways..wind chimes and rain are exciting..they dance inside - making that howl is brave...the step on perhaps
ReplyDeleteMyrna,
ReplyDeleteI love this most fitting dedication to Wild Woman, Sherry...Are you certain that she was not present and participating in this grand movement of earthly and weatherly items...I sense her presence, as strong as those wild winds!!
Eileen
Love, love the final stanza. And also the wild concerto of the chimes. Lovely image.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
