TRAVELLING ALONE

I speed, carefully
breaking laws,
unseen, uncaught.
Listen to news,
       "chemical weapons ................."
turn knob,
loud songs
kill time.
I sing along.

Each bush - same,
M's holy arches towering holy malls, same.

Teleportation? I wish -
dissolve into space,
recompose
in some exotic place.

Yawn.

Stop.

Silent conversation
about  journeying home.
Wise rock smiles.

I-10 Arizona.  Driving home from daughter's house.

I drive a lot and I fully understand the monotony of a often taken journey.

  8. This beautiful. I think when the day comes that we can teleport around the real world we'll miss that beauty of taking the scenic route.

  11. listen to the rocks...they i think have lasted much longer than us...teleportation will only speed up our already out of control pace...and we will miss so much more...

  12. I get this one...the drive home alone is a jumble of so many things in my brain...perhaps we should all seek wisdom from the wise rock.
