I love whipped cream
So sweet, smooth, puffy
But even when it's a little flat
I love whipped cream's
Irregular edges shape shifting
Turning colors blending
Melting into its liquid host
Transforming itself and me
Who for an instant am high
Floating in my intoxication
So sad that all I can do is
Imagine
Myself
Swallowing clouds
(For Poets United.)
Such a yum-yum poem :)
ReplyDeleteO! Lyrical, wistful, gentle as a cloud. I'll never think of whip cream the same again, and may have to succumb to it more often. I would love to rise into the sky rather than into the shallows.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful imagining.........I never thought of it till now but, yes, they can be like whipped cream....I love the sipping of whipped cream, imagining you are swallowing clouds.
