watching my mountains so still,
feeling the breeze, earth's exhalation.
feeling the breeze, earth's exhalation.
I'm so grateful for my senses,
my filters of perception.
I see, hear, feel what I can.
I imagine the imperceptible
that lives, moves hidden from me.
that lives, moves hidden from me.
I'm simply a sample
of one organic species
thinking thoughts of wonder
about our mysterious earth
where creatures walk, crawl, fly, swim
unconsciously celebrating home.

Yes! Earth day is partly why I chose this motif, and you celebrate its parts with yours. Cool.
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious earth day tribute :D
ReplyDeleteBeautifully executed.
Lots of love,
Sanaa
This is very beautiful. Sheer perfection.
ReplyDeleteBack again, and truly, how uplifting to read: "I'm...one organic species thinking thoughts of wonder" and all the creatures "unconsciously celebrating home." One of my faves of yours.
ReplyDeletethis is so soothing and peaceful...
ReplyDeleteI'm so grateful for my senses ... absolutely agree!

ReplyDeleteI think silent celebrations are sometimes the most satisfying - sitting still and really being in our world - for some reason that solitary yellow flower stood out for me - rather like picturing you sat in the garden - alone but part of the garden and the other flowers and really quite radiant!
ReplyDeleteThe poem contains a breathless quality...absolutely uplifting! Let peace be the compass of our soul. Beautifully expressed, Myrna!
ReplyDeleteTrue the earth is a magical place. I watched the birds all afternoon while watering the garden in the quiet sunshine. I was thinking whoever created all of this is pretty special:)
ReplyDeleteOh, there is so much to wonder about which lives under our feet or in the forests and seas beyond our seeing and hearing. So many species. So much beauty makes up this earth! Happy Earth Day!

ReplyDeleteabout our mysterious earth
How blessed are we to be able to do so. If only the focus following is to solve all the conflicts facing us.
Hank
If only more of us would appreciate what we have rather than rape and pillage the Earth as somehow we need it for our children's future.
ReplyDeleteA universal lament.
ReplyDeleteI like the connection you make between "organic" and "Earth Day", Myrna. We have moved so far away from nature and the "organic" that perhaps we need to take extra time every Earth Day in order to develop strategies to last us all year and every year.
