Sometimes,
torrential thoughts fill my mind,
soaking, drenching, softening its ground.
From dark clouds,
thunder so loud.
Fear jolts from its grave,
haunting.
I run towards storm's eye,
but it's blind.
Inevitably, lightening strikes
illuminating,
reminding me
there's still
sun, moon, stars
on the other side
of all that passes.

Great take on this prompt. When the storm hits, it is extremely hard to keep perspective and not get lost in its drama. You capture that well. I like your pic with the eye of the storm.
ReplyDeleteLove it. And wish that I didn't need the reminder about the sun, moon, stars - and rainbows.
ReplyDeleteOh how I love those closing lines and the reminder in them. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely, uplifting, ending.

i can relate to this - running right into the storm's eye - and then finding the world still turns... and the stars and moon were not shaken...
