a perfect dream tonight,
when many, many lovers convene
in a perfect site, to honor everything
that is -
even the largeness of light,
or tiniest pebble of earth,
the fog within some brains,
problems unsolved,
stains that won't dissolve,
the good within oceans,
the horror they contain,
even the real in us,
what we sometimes feign.
Tonight, exquisitely dressed,
it's nudity the lovers celebrate,
wildly, unashamedly expressed
in words, unveiling life.
They deserve to have a ball,
these lovers who write
with blood of their hearts,
so that others may glimpse
inside,
see how words,
like tiny golden lines,
connect dots.
What's best about my dream,
what makes it perfect
I honestly confess,
is that in this community of lovers,
I actually partake.
Happy Anniversary to Dverse Poets, celebrating 3 years of opening their hearts to poets all over the globe. Hope every day for you, is a ball.

its nudity we celebrate...ha...yes, being transparent in our words...unless someone gets too heavy into the wine casks...lol....lovely lead in to the ball tonight myrna....save me a dance...smiles.
ReplyDeleteAh, and what a wonderful community of lovers (of words, I think) it is! And what a perfect occasion this is to have a ball!
ReplyDeleteah yes - you're such a part of that community of lovers...and how wonderful it is that we can share and admire poetry around the globe...happy celebration myrna... join me for a drink at the bar?
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Myran. Celebrating three years of dVerse means celebrating the words we write with the blood of our hearts, the nudity and honesty we display in our poems.
ReplyDeleteA lovely write. :-)
ReplyDelete-HA
And long may that love grow - and spread.
ReplyDeleteMyrna, you are right. Poets are lovers, attentive to and honoring the details of existence, and in a sense, baring ourselves to the world.
ReplyDeleteLOVE is the common denominator after all, the answer, the solution to so many of the world's problems & issues; & poetry is the common universal currency, the lyrics for the music, fodder for the muses--& it is our very viscera we share, stripped of masks, free of shackles; very nice celebratory poem.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty in light, in pebbles, in fog. And the lovers who stand naked, presenting them all to the world. Lovely piece.
ReplyDeleteWhooowhooo ~ I love it when we all partake in the celebration ~ Thanks for joining us Myrna ~ Have a lovely week ~

ReplyDeleteYES! IT IS A most lovely thing to see the connection of ALL..and then to connect with ALL in everyway one can when the reality of connection TRULY BECOMES ONE!
ReplyDeleteMy heart is joined to yours, the rhythms play to soft guitars, the wind is in the trees, there are ripples on the pond. I send a boat of verse to yours, will you let me board? Happy Anniversary my friend!
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same way, Myrna. We are in such good company!
ReplyDeleteyou're a big part of this community of lovers... smiles... care for a slow dance? :)
ReplyDeletepoetry strips away those layers leaving us naked and exposed.
ReplyDeleteunveiling life with blood of their hearts,...hundred percent..
ReplyDelete'these lovers who write
ReplyDeletewith blood of their hearts,
so that others may glimpse
inside,'
