(Romantic couple outside Fisherman's Wharf in California) |
THE HONEYMOON
Condition perfect, they dance.
He begins romantic foreplay.
She follows docilely for now.
Music – sweet molasses dripping
on contract they signed in a trance.
Their passion, like sticky glue,
shuts their eyes,
attaches their hearts
and at least during this song
they see unconditional love,
not the huge invisible question mark
waiting.

My dear Myrna,
ReplyDeleteLove the subtle undertones in this. Wonderful imagery. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations too on your recent award! I saw your name over at Ashok's blog.
The Kindness Of Love
Way too early to see the question mark during the honeymoon...still it happens ~
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your FF55 ~
smiles...and i hope it lasts for them....it is a scary moment facing the unknown future before them...and there are moments...smiles.
ReplyDeleteMyrna,
ReplyDeleteA most beautiful moment captured so well in the image and your very fitting words....Of course as they say, 'sometimes the course of real love can run dry....'.
I suppose it is the reality of life which will mingle with those young lovers, eventually:)
Best Wishes,
Eileen
BTW: Fisherman's Wharf is a lovely location. I have been there many times, including in March of this year with my husband:)
So well done! Unconditional love....question mark. Yes.
ReplyDeleteWow Myrna...

ReplyDeleteBeautifully written Myrna. I do believe it is very important to keep the ROMANCE and the question mark can be a positive thing, right? Have you a blessed week! hugs shakira
ReplyDeleteMine is here
Ahh... after the ball is over... will they still feel the same...Very romantic, tinged with a touch of sadness, maybe.
ReplyDeleteGreat 55 Myrna.
Many romantic fantasies have happened outside Fishermen's Wharf--mine these days involve the Ghiradelli store more than the waltz. ;_) Loved the journey in 55 words to one of my favorite places.
ReplyDeleteThey have a lot going for them. The ? is not relevant for now! Nice write Myrna!
ReplyDeleteHank
Hope they never notice that question mark.
ReplyDeleteDear Myrna,
ReplyDeleteHoping to see your footsteps over at this month's Blog Hop Saturday!
Wohoo, somebody's turning all sensuous and romantic. Let the dance never end . . .
ReplyDeleteGlad to see different colours of your writing, dear Myrna. You always pleasantly surprise me whenever I see a different genre from you.
Joy always,
Susan
Love that "?" mentioning... now that's bad- yet always possible...
ReplyDeleteoh to be lost in a moment like this...thank you darlin...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the romance will live on and the queationmark will disappear.
ReplyDeleteOh so romantic... I hope my own honey moon will never end.;)
ReplyDeletexoxo
That's why Jose and I don't dance ;) Haha - sorry couldn't resist that, Myrna. Romantic love is beautiful - the hard part is later, right? I'm not a cynic, but just saying...
