My aim precise, bow as taut
as a lover's arm reaching
for the beloved,
I shoot up fiery arrows
that return extinguished and weak
after succumbing to gravity's
force pulling them back,
making them crash on solid ground.
I missed.
Echos reverberate again,
and again.
My target fuzzy, now out of scope
I want to forget it.
But gravity, so strange
it pulls both ways
creating inexplicable attractions.
Once more I'm compelled to shoot
projectiles of my dreams
sharp and on fire,
upwards hoping for strength
to pierce and burn, escaping
the pull of familiar earth
to obey the lure of the mark beyond.
And perhaps today...
bulls-eye!

smiles..never stop trying...maybe if one would bind some rocket engines to these darn arrows then they could win the battle against gravity..
ReplyDeleteMust keeping on trying to better our aim, maybe attach a rocket flame indeed. I just hope it doesn't fall on anyone head, that could cause dread.haha
ReplyDeleteYes, good luck! Today, you maybe just hit it! K.
