SO MANY CLOUDS

In the future when I'm a ghost,
I'll write to you like a snail,
slowly shaping my words
into cursive curls encircling
messages to lead you on.

"Keep going," I'll write
because I'll know the worth
of your path, made of circles too
but winding up, up
to nebulous tomorrows.

And many years after your death,
you'll see it.
Not just the value of your life,
but all lives, All.
I promise you such a surprise.
You'll never guess how humanity survives.

In order not to spoil the ending,
I'll give only one tiny hint:
Those millions of questions?
They all have the same answer.

(Today at Dverse Poets, Grace has us writing to ourselves from the future.)

  2. Okay, Myrna. Your poem takes the prize for me of all the ones I've read today. I absolutely adore it . Bless you for your heart and this wonderful vision.....love the whole idea of leaving messages behind to be followed......LOVE "the worth of your path" and the value of your life, of all lives.....oh how people need to hear this message. Bless you, my friend. I will stop rending my garments now, and start mending them, LOL. You rescued me from angst!

  5. cursive will def keep you on a path... And seeing the value of life, after death? It makes you think, actually; so many don't appreciate life - their own or others until it's gone... I would like to know the answer one day; no time soon tho... smiles

  8. Is the answer a three-letter word? You certainly took a very different route and I welcome your perspective.

  9. My, this is uplifting with a twist of irony. Love nebulous tomorrows and of course the snail, who may hold the secret. ;)

  13. Clever cool. To imagine we'll know the answers in another life as people learn to apply that truth in the word of the living! A good future indeed.

  14. Mmmm, interesting and thought-provoking. Moving beyond selfish individual concerns to encompass all. Particularly like the lines:

I'll write to you like a snail,
    slowly shaping my words
    into cursive curls encircling
    messages to lead you on

  16. And ah.. the beauty of the Nautilus shell after the ending of life is IT too.. but the Nautilus knows nothing of past or future.. or even the present of now.. as now is all that drives the Nautilus flesh forwardNOW in art of Nautilus spiraling Golden mean flow..

Nor does the Nautilus figure out the mathematical mean of 1.618 of the wild patterned call of the Golden Spiral Universe.. tHere is instinct.. and intuitive action.. and the Nautilus shell of life.. yields Truth.. to the restrictions of the bone of human knowledge....
