(Dust Mite - Photobucket) |
Ritually I clean my house, erasing dust
disapearring, returning.
Such a bothersome deja vu,
repeatedly reminding
I'm not done
with particles of me and mine)
dancing, flying, falling, clustering still,
until wiped away.
My mind too has debris.
I try hard to purge
rubbish in dark matter,
accumulated idea(l)s
appearing real, fleeting caricatures
of truth covered by my perception's dust -
my soiled illusions.
I sigh
while I wipe a table, mop the floor,
again
thinking I may never be rid of it all,
I clean anyway.

This is all I had to contribute but didn't want to miss posting before Christmas break. My best wishes to all.
smiles. yes it is a meticulous job, the cleaning of house/home/mind/heart/soul...it takes time as well because it builds up, sometimes without us even noticing it...
ReplyDeleteyou contributed plenty. smiles.
I need to ritually clean both my house and my mind. I know which one will be hardest to clean though...
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. And best wishes to you and yours.
Myrna, I have known since we met that we are kindred spirits! I am in full solidarity with the Overcoming! Hee hee........within and without.
ReplyDeleteAnd we clean another day, overcoming the dust of the day

It is an endless task, isn't it? Both decluttering the mind & decluttering the home!! Well expressed, Myrna; and Merry Christmas to you!
ReplyDeleteThat's the thing about "cleaning" in any form -- you're never really done because it regenerates so quickly. I could relate to this poem!
ReplyDeleteah and we don't need to get rid of it all... i like what i find about myself while cleaning...some good...some not so good... after all it's i and it gives a picture in the end... glad you joined in myrna...
ReplyDeleteYou've said it Myrna! Cleaning the house or the mind are both an unending story. And both cleaning will involve the same tiredness even though one appears more sweaty with the house. Nicely!

Its never done, the dust always coming back ~ I like the metaphor to the cleansing of the mind ~ We need to do this every once in a while ~ Happy Holidays to you~
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Grace
The cleaning of the clutter and the soul basically have the same consequence I would think. Though the clutter needed more brawn and the soul more of the brains to accomplish. Both would result in exhaustion, anyway! Nicely Myrna!

ReplyDeletewe'll never be done… and still we are good exactly as we are.
ReplyDeleteI like the parallel between the dusting and the debris in your mind. You are right its a never ending job, both are. Beautifully written Myrna. Have a lovely Christmas.
