Enthralled I listen
forgetting the mundane
because music is a vessel
that's not here,
not even outer space.
Sublime form of transportation,
like a crystal ship
taking me to me somewhere,
where nowhere is a place
of numbers dancing
to infinite melodies
in notes of noise and silence fused.
It must go on forever,
this song.
But for me it plays
a short while.
Once over
it's time to pack my self.
go quietly home
into its waves.
The challenge for Sunday at Imaginary Garden for Real Toads is to use one or some of the title songs from Jim Morrison who was also a fine poet.
This is beautiful Myrna. Music is hypnotic. It takes you in and you don't want to let go of it. Thank you so much for participating. Don't worry about being late. There was no time limit. :) I often have to play catch up.
ReplyDeleteI like that music is a vessel, transporting us to somewhere special ~ But sad that it only plays for a short while ~ Still its good that we can go home in its waves ~ Happy day to you ~

Everyone really got into this challenge and I'm just loving the words. Wishing I had been more a part of his music. I did like Riders on the Storm but really tuned out most of the world. You did such a lovely take on the era.
ReplyDeletemusic is a sublime form of transportation...i whole heartedly agree...a good song can take you just anywhere.. and sometimes it's just good to let 'em carry you a bit... i can relate..
ReplyDeleteMusic is a language I wish we all communicated in. Beautiful poem!

I LOVE this, especially how the music transports you like a crystal ship. Wonderful, amigo.
ReplyDeletemusic is escapism... and we all need a bit of that - as long as we know when to go home! Very wise.
