If earth ceases to circle the sun
Will the world be reborn
Into an unknown dimension
Of thought, intellect, imagination
Could there be a bigger bang in the cosmos
Creating a world of sanity
Where no thing has value
Except all that is true
Like a tree that gives you breath
Like water that equals life
Will the world be peacefully still
With no need for revolution
Once all of evolution exists
Will humans know movement
Within the modern dance
Of being exquisitely unique
While one with all -
A cluster of stars
Will all animals - wild or tame
Fulfill their contract with nature
To help the earth radiate its beauty
Melding with the darkness of space
Creating excitement through harmony
Innocently flowing through time
While time tries to forget
About today

  1. This is a very dark passage but rebirth is still possible I think. Suzanne - Mapping Uncertainty

  2. So poignant and beautiful, Myrna.....the wild ones know how to live far better than we do. I take heart that the shaman says what we put into the universe of heart, energy and poems helps. He says our art is our resistance. I talk about this on Monday at earthweal.Keep writing!

  3. These are questions we have no answer to, Myrna, but we can imagine some of the possibilities. It would be interesting if the world were ‘reborn Into an unknown dimension / Of thought, intellect, imagination’, and I wonder whether humans would exist and, if not, what kind of beings would replace them.

  4. It took nature 3 million years to figure out big brains are a bad idea for life. I love the questioning and questing here, and the answers make the questions seem moot -- who cares really if homo sapiens grinds itself into its own dirt? Thanks Myrna - Brendan

  5. Once humans realize they are irrelevant to the cosmos, they may figure out the right way to live. Good questions.

    Creating a world of sanity . . ."
How I love the way YES would play out, the images you leave in my heart! My new favorite of your poems, Myrna.

  7. The new world created holds promise and perhaps, the pain of today will be healed.
