THE FLOW

I thought I knew what it meant
To go with the flow
Travel in life's radiant glow
Let the current lift you
Let everything be carried
By its own breeze
Never freeze
In stagnant winters
Crying for springs
That may never be

I was right
But also wrong
The flow is not just a stream
To ride
It's something inside
Like rushing waters
Sculpting a coarse rock
Into a smooth, shinny pebble
Becoming

  2. Yes, that stream, that flow within, helps us ride the currents, trusting we will wind up right where we're supposed to be, right on time. Lovely, Myrna.

  3. Oh indeed, the flow is like rushing waters sometime....if only it would slow down.

  4. True. And sometimes, for some people, that smooth, shiny pebble is a diamong.

  5. Indeed... the pebble reminds me of William Blake:

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower

  6. This is good advice. Go with the flow and welcome the change! I love it!

  7. I love the idea that flow can be rushing waters inside us carving and sculpting...'becoming'!

  8. Thoughtful and thought-provoking. The kind of layered piece one wants to drift in, for a bit.

  9. I think it is often hard to go with the flow, especially when the currents are rough and I need a paddle to steer me to safe shores.

  10. That flow will be felt, no matter what Myrna.

  11. Becoming is an excellent place to end this poem...which leads us to new beginnings...
