Listen.
It's important to hear the music
out there.
Is it loud, passionate?
Or soft, easy flowing?
It alternates
depending on the waves,
the air you breathe.
Listen.
There's music inside too.
Clashing or harmonizing
with itself, melding with the oxygen
that feeds your mind, your heart.
Listen
to the composition you are,
the song you sing.
Regardless of it's tune,
let it be a love song.
(For Poets United.)
Music is alive in you too. A beautiful song Myrna. I am convinced that some people have music in their veins instead of blood :)
ReplyDeleteThere was a song back in the 90s by a band named Tesla that was called Love Song. I am sure there are others, but that is the one I immediately thought of. I like how you take it from hearing the song of nature/of the world, to hearing the song within ourselves.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love this - especially the last stanza.. we are sing some kind of song and give meaning to life. Beautifully executed :D
ReplyDeleteLots of love,
Sanaa
Oh my friend, that is the essence of it all - to let it be a love song. So beautifully written, from that good heart of yours.
ReplyDeleteWe do have to listen to our inner music and heed it, I think.....and, ha, perhaps dance to the beat of the outer music as we go through our lives! And there should always be a love song in our midst...that's the way to live life for sure!
ReplyDeleteMyrna, you must have felt the meeting of the outer and inner music multiple times in order to write this beautiful poem! May the concert go on and on, and let it be love!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that final stanza. And the sky. Thank you.

ReplyDeletelet it be a love song
One seems to forget Myrna! That is the whole problem! What we crave for is the message of love that many try to extend to others but many refuse to listen!
