It's been raining for days.
Flashing floods crack smiles
in clay desert earth.
Sand shakes from here to there,
rocks glisten, plants guzzle, wolves sing,
birds swim, coyotes yelp (that's how they celebrate).
Mountains remain still
as life above spins green around.
Makes me wonder
if that wild commotion happens
in us too
