A park in Hawaii |
Je t'aime.
Quand les jours sont bleu, je t'aime.
Quand je vive la vie en rose, je t'aime.
Dans mon silence, je t'aime.
Toujours, par l'eternite', je t'aime.
When young,
I dreamed words of love I had never heard,
or perhaps I just hadn't listened
to the song of birds, the pelting of rain
or the swoosh of leaves swaying,
while the breeze talked to the sun.
Now I hear your breath, and I know
nature's rhythm,
how it flows outside my understanding.
I simply accept your love
permeating, sans mots.
I wonder when
did I become
fluent
in this muted communication?
(Over at Dverse Poets, Fred is prompting us to write in a different language. I wrote in the language of love. I actually spoke it many, many years ago. I've almost forgotten it. But now I've learned the unspoken language of love.)
i hear your breath and know natures rhythm....how beautiful that is ....and accepting the love....ah, it is good to be fluent...smiles.....very cool piece myrna
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful myrna...the language of love can be spoken without a single word...so true that and so wonderful...and the french works so well here
ReplyDeleteI like the muted communication between nature and myself ~ More so now that I am older, the silence is golden ~
ReplyDeleteAlso, the french verses of love are precious ~ I wish I can speak it fluently ~
This is beautiful, Myrna. I think as we age we become fluent in many things we never dreamed we would be!
ReplyDeleteThe French is lovely - but to have learned to listen to the languages of the world around us is so much richer than simply listening to our human utterances, no matter which language we are using.
ReplyDelete....i always think that the best way to express love is too feel it... words aren't so nescessary, the pressence is... when we listen to the abundant language of love we don't use our tongue...we only use our heart to understand everything... very beautiful offering...always relaxing and affecting to soul...thank you...smiles...
ReplyDeleteSeriously Wonderful Poem!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work.

One of my favorites of yours - the birds, the rain, the wind - the leaves talking to the sun.......and now the understanding and acceptance of love without words. Wonderfully expressed, Myrna!
ReplyDeletefluent in muted conversation -> very poetic
ReplyDeleteBichon Frise
Breath to nature's rhythm... love that, Myrna.
ReplyDeleteAs much as we love to proclaim love, it is most often best spoken without words..nice!
ReplyDeleteYes, French just lends itself so beautifully to love poetry... enchantant!
ReplyDeleteNature's rhythm, how it flows outside my understanding - really love that Myrna, thank you.
ReplyDeleteJe t' aime....wonderful words to any ear!
ReplyDeletebeautifully done Myrna. What an incredible ending, just love the muted conversation line. Excellent, so glad you shared with us. Thanks
ReplyDelete"Now I hear your breath, and I know
ReplyDeletenature's rhythm"

Awesome. The language of love. Looks like I have a lot to learn :-) Great use of the assignment. I'm finding these just so fun and varied tonight.

I can't believe you write all this stuff. You write so well--yet so frequently--that it seems like it must be easy for you, either that or you stay up late a lot.
ReplyDeleteWrite in a different language? Ummm, I guess I know 100-300 words in Spanish, and I would probably end up misusing most of them, but I could just call it poetic license and dare anyone to challenge me.
a gentle poem, you are fluent, this feels like love
ReplyDeleteDear Myrna, this was so lovely, you can imagine it spoke to me. There is nothing more universal than the language of love, it is spoken by many but might be difficult to learn.;) I think once you do, you will never forget it.;)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week ahead.;)
xoxo
This is gorgeous. The beauty and comfort we find in nature as children may be the next-most magical thing to a long and carefully tended love.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, how does this happen? What love can do. Like water, it finds its own way.
ReplyDeleteI wonder when
ReplyDeletedid I become
fluent
in this muted communication?
- Such beautiful lines, Myrna. I can't be happier to read these exquisite lines today. You always never fail to surprise me post after post. You are a very gifted writer.
Joy always,
Susan
