My husband bakes yummy bread. |
I take a deep breath,
no relaxation goal,
or aim of enlightenment,
I inhale,
to smell the banquet we've created.
A mix of our dreams,
stirred, jelled,
kneaded into shape,
never well sculptured.
A mess,
even gets stale sometimes -
inevitably.
Mostly, it's tasty, spicy and revives
to feed us.
We're always hungry.
Been married almost too long to count. Happy and not so happy times have always been filled with love. Happy Anniversary to us.
(Submitted to Dverse Poets, though I don't think I fulfill the requirements of an imagist poem, but if you'd like to try visit the site.
Also submitted to G-Man's Fifty Five Words)
I think the image of making bread as a metaphor for our relationships works really well.
