AROUND 'N' AROUND OR WARPED PROGRESS

Balboa Park, San Diego, Ca.

"He's different Mom!"
She clenched her teeth, stormed out.
Ran around with unique love of her life
until he seemed too familiar.

She left him after
only one shove,
only one cracked rib,
witnessed by only one
of her kids.

Instead of “I told you so”, Mom rejoiced.
Daughter was learning faster than she did.

  8. Wow! The tone and tempo of this poem seems light and cheerful, but the content dark and disturbing. Great style you have Myrna!

  9. This is powerful. I had to read it twice, because in my heart I knew full well what it was about, but my childhood memories refused to allow such a story to be told... again. Please keep writing, and thank you for being brave enough to put out this 55. Whomever it's about and whether or not it's truly fiction, writing like this is genuinely deserving to be called ART because of the impact it can have on your audience.

  10. Nobody should tolerate violence and abuse. Yours was packed with power, precise and hitting hard. Liked it. Welcome back. Hope you had a lovely holiday, Myrna
