 (rain through my window)

LIVING THE TEMPEST

Tapatapatapatapatapatapa, rumble.
Wet noise ferociously batters everything
I view outside.
Electric flashes start my heart
like Frankenstein’s quick pumps,
movement, life jumps, so fuzzy,
love? fright,
then death again
until the next.

I watch, listen, safely cradled by the silence inside,

as stealthily, fluid pieces of storm
seep in through hidden cracks.

  4. i think it fits perfect...love a good storm...it is nice to be safe inside..i like to go out on the porch though...a modicum of safety just to see its ferocity...like the touch of frankenstein...the ending has a bit of an ominous feel to it...

Great write my friend. You know how to stir up the emotions. The greatest storm of all is love (smile). Thanks for sharing my dear.

  8. Yup. I hear and feel there where the light rain brings on the tympani and cymbals and light show and then "stealthily" comes closer.

  14. Myrna,

I felt the fear and tension of almost being there in the eye of the storm. You painted a picture with your words...
Today here in Cheshire we have sunshine and no rain, for a change. Such a poor summer of rain...
    Best Wishes,
    Eileen

  21. Mother Nature at her best. Personally I like this part:
    "love? fright,
    then death again
    until the next."

  22. Great onomatopoeia, and also, I love the atmosphere. The Frankenstein metaphor is perfect here. There's also an ambiguity I like about the ending. Very nice.
