AM WRITING!

Is it significant that I'm almost missing my deadline to write a blog for a group whose name starts with 'insecure'?  I think everything has meaning, so my tardiness is obviously symbolic of a flaw I must correct.  But, I'll do that later when I address my chronic procrastination.

Kidding aside, I am really grateful to belong to this group.  I know there are no guns held to my head, penalties to pay or discomforts to endure, but the mere act of signing up here has created a subliminal obligation to which I'm responding.

No, there's no novel in the making, yet.  But I did dust off a memoir I wrote a long time ago, am rewriting it, changing it and that's progress for me.

They say once you focus on something, your intention can in some way mold your reality.  I hope that's true.  For now I'm focusing on writing, on improving, learning and especially on enjoying it.

I have few words of wisdom to share, except that I know to enjoy it, can be enough.  But, I'll borrow a few quotes that can serve as inspiration for us all.  Happy writing!!

And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise.  The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.  ~Sylvia Plath

If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood.  I'd type a little faster.  ~Isaac Asimov

"Only write from your own passion, your own truth. That's the only thing you really know about, and anything else leads you away from the pulse."
Marianne Williamson

Joseph Pulitzer
Put it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will remember it, and above all, accurately so they will be guided by its light.

  4. Any writing I ever do is for me, when other people like/love it I'm thrilled but, ultimately, it is my thoughts on life, love, our planet that I love to share with anyone who cares to read. If you keep that in mind, it allows to write freely, with no 'rules' It's for that reason that I don't try to write to strict poetry rules.. Aa Bb Cc and this had to end with that, and this has to have so many syllables, I can't write like that. It has to be free flowing thinking. Try it, you may just discover it frees you to write what you wish, how you wish. :)
Love all the quotes too, especially Marianne Williamson's. Kind of what I'm trying to say, only I was so much more long winded ...lol

  5. My dearest Myrna,
When it comes to writing, all of us, as you know have a different style and writes with different desires. You yourself have a talent that personally touches me when I stop by. Don't ever lost that my friend. Yes, I also love all the quotes.

  8. Self doubt causes me to delay so many worthwhile things, and these are things that often don't require a lot of time!

  11. Self-doubt always precedes sound writing, I reckon. The quotes are quite expressive of the human state. Thanks for sharing them with us, Myrna.

    Wishing you the best.

    Joy always,
    Susan

    P. S: Waiting for that memoir to come out.
