MI VIDA LOCA or FANTASIES OF AN AGING FART... I MEAN HEART.

"Move those hips Mama,
show me what you've got,
oh yeah, feel it."
His words, loud, direct, bossy.
Like that bad boy I knew
who my parents disapproved,
but I sneaked out the window,
met him down the block,
then flew on his motorcycle,
to places whose darkness swirled
tornadoes within when I swayed
to his rhythmic touch, and kisses
full of music, latin hot, juicy.
Inhaling his vapors, seething,
squeezing droplets of my essence,
insidious passion splashing
all over.

"Watch me," he says, then winks
as he guides my every step.
I move more slowly now,
discarding thoughts of youth-
full escapades, madness departed.
Actions more mature,
my vida's not so loca.
Does sensuality grow old? or cold?
No matter, I'll just sway,
to life's seductions, mindfully
accepting its present
of fun, while I dance
like when I was young,
to the beat of Zumba -Gold.

Okay, so I wish this cute guy was leading the class. (I just found his picture on photobucket) My instructor is a nice young woman, who is kind enough to lead a Zumba class (Gold) for "women of a certain age". Had lots of fun and plan to participate again in spite of my achy bones.

  2. No doubt you are hoping it will help those achy bones, and the evidence is that it probably will.

  4. That was a fun poem, and hit the nail on the head, I do Zumba with my 10 and 13 yr old daughters and must say my tempo is no where near as quick as theirs.

    1. Myrna, you are totally awesome. I wonder where my get up and go went? I'm afraid a Zumba class would land me in a hospital!
