TODAY I'M BLOGGER OF NOTE!!!

Thank you to Pam and Sandy from Words of Wisdom for selecting me as Blogger of Note today. It is an honor.

If you haven't already, I recommend you visit this site, where a variety of blogs are highlighted and promoted. You can nominate a blog for consideration, or you can submit your own. It's a great place to discover new and interesting blogs and make more friends.

Thanks also to my good blogging buddy, Olga, at Casta Zero for recommending my blog. It is as if someone gave me an exquisite gift. I am so grateful.

If you are visiting from Words of Wisdom, Welcome. I am so glad you're here. I'd love a comment from you so I know you visited. Stay a while.

I think it's customary to write a little about yourself, by way of introduction to new visitors, and also a way to expose a little more to on-going friends. Sooo...

I had thought about blogging for a while though I really didn't know much about it. Impulsively and quickly I designed a blog one day. Obviously, I didn't give much thought to the title since my blog is not written daily nor is it exclusively about my deepest spiritual journey. Though so young, it has zigsagged through various stages. I read up and followed the tips of several advisers on what exactly a blog is supposed to be. Thus I went from an autobiographical model, to an informative, essay writing model, to an inspirational model, on and on, until I realized there really needs to be no model.

I've enjoyed writing...forever. Journaling has been my primary outlet. I've also written a little memoir. It's been rewritten and rewritten and I must rewrite some more. Maybe someday I'll finish. I hope you read it when I do.

One morning many years ago, immediately upon awakening, the name for a character appeared on my mental screen. Fiendishly I began writing little stories about him. He's an interesting character representing our inner consciousness. The few people who've read the stories don't get it. They assume they're just for kids. Hopefully some day, I'll rewrite these little stories too.

I mention this because much of it was written in rhyme but I never would have considered it poetry. I thought poetry was restricted to those blessed with the ability to document reality in a beatiful and profound manner. Perhaps it is and maybe someday, I'll join their ranks.

Recently, poetry has invaded my spirit. I am most grateful to Brian at Waystationone whose poetry opened my eyes to the beauty and truth of poetic writing. I proceeded to read others, and eventually dared to write my own. I don't know if I yet dare call it poetry per se, but it's my attempt at learning and engaging in a very special genre. I thank those who patiently accept my learning process.

Some consider blogging to be merely a mundane ego inflating project. That's feasible, but it's not what I've found. I have read so many talented, sincere, and self-giving bloggers. For me it has been a journey of self discovery as well as discovery of the vastness of the human spirit, which desires to be heard. In a short time it has taught me much. I now see life as a poem requiring several rewrites. I am grateful to be its poet.

Sandy and Pam ask that a blogger of note select three posts, so readers can enjoy a sampling of the blog. Here are my three:

Dear Alice

The Choice (This one's sort of long. Sorry, I didn't realize then that readers are very busy reading other blogs.)
